I like your Crypts man!
thanks Rams. if you are referring to the brown crypts in the middle - I think they have a long story. That was a big bunch of plants in my previous setup. I later decided to split into parts and starting spreading nicely all over the tank. When I dismantled everything I gave most of it to Alan Schembri (I think) who most probably shared this at AM.com fair. I couldn't manage to attend the sale on the sunday, so I asked one of the members to buy me some plants on my behalf. And to my surprise there small pieces of this crypts. I don't know if it's the same that had started from my previous tank, but there is a very good possibility. Senseless story I know, but I felt like writing this! :) Willing to share, if anyone is interested....

well it's not the first thing that was in my tank - got a holiday of a couple of months and then came back. Some of the fish i had sold/given to Efesu were bronze and ALbino catfish - corydoras. They are now back in my tank. These are also back in my tank :))

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I last posted something, but the past few months have been very very hectic, and the coming won't be less. Infact I need some help on a problem I will shortly encounter. Towards mid June I should be leaving the country for 3 weeks, come back for 2 or 3 weeks and leave again for another month. To be honest I'd rather not count on the Mrs to feed the fish, as they would either starve to death or else be given a three week amount of food in two days! Another alternative is an automatic feeder however the past experience with these feeders is that the battries won't last for more than a couple of days - surely not 3 or 4 weeks apart from the fact that it needs to be filled. So I was thinking of holiday tablets. Any tips regarding this as I have never used them and don't know the pros and cons of such method. Any suggestions would be much welcomed! Will try and take some updated pictures as soon as I have a minute.

Antazz I will be having the same problem in June/July so it would be nice to have some feedback about those holiday tablets.

Hi antazz I would have a daily amount of food in separate containers. So you need about 10 of these for three weeks. Then I would tell your wife to feed every alternate day. There you will not have to use any automatic feeders or tablets (the latter, I don't know what these are by the way) You will have the right amount in those containers. Hide the original food container, because inexperienced people tend to continue putting in food because the fish continue to come to the glass. On the other hand not to get missed feeds, you can call home as a reminder. Don't call during busy hours at home. One last thing, fish can go without feeding for 4 days and even more but if you wish to feed your fish on alternate days, that's good. Do a water change before you go and check filter, air pump etc.. that they're working properly and involve you family to check these out on regular basis, it more important then food in this case.

good idea jtheuma, which is worth considering. It can't be that difficult for my wife to perform such task!the tablets I mentioned are called holiday tablets which are used for when the fish can't be fed manually. I beleive they are rich in vitamins and you put an x amount per fish! That's all I know though.
