swordtails, mollies, silver dollars and guppies are a big no in my opinion.
the others are touch and go - ie depends on your bettas character - best stick with snails

iceman25883:
like to ask what kind of fish can i put with my betta in a 130L tank??????
Hi Iceman,
personally I do not recommend tankmates for a betta.
1. some might be attacked by the betta - like guppies, which he can think they are other bettas.
2. bettas are slow moving fish, so food might get gobbled up quickly by other fish
3. bettas prefer slow moving waters, which is sometimes too slow for other fish.
4. some fish will nip the bettas fins
If your tank has alot of hiding places you could try red cherry shrimps...or perhaps endlers as they are docile and not a danger to the betta

Just had something unusual happen. yesterday I bought 7 bettas, 2 males & 5 females from an LFS. I took them home and moved them in big jars (2 or 3 L) . I put the females together, and males obv sep. Water I used was 1/2 from the bag and top up from treated tapwater.
This morning I found 1 female dead. I thought it was nothing out of the ordinary, did a small water change (1/5) and left the seemingly 4 healthy females in their jar. Now I just found 3 dead, and the last one (biggest) having difficulty swimming. None of the dead had any wounds, spots etc etc. so I'm thinking it could be something internal?
Males are looking very good *touchwood*
And if anyone is reading this and has some betta females for sale (preferably cambodian but anything goes) pm me.
update last female is dead. :( she has white stuff on her fins esp the anal fin and the dorsal side. I'm guessing its some kind of fungus as it looks "fluffy". What baffles me is that they all looked healthy in the tank at the shop, and first 4 deaths didn't show any fluff, or it was too little to notice.
