All coralsrequire more than light in order to grow and reproduce. Most hobbyists who havecorals in their saltwater aquariums pay close attention to the level of traceelements and calcium in their tank water. Keeping these levels as close tooptimum as possible is an important part of a coral's overall health, but theydo not provide any actual nutrition. Here we have a selection of prepared food for the health of your corals.
Adding suspension feeds such as amino acids can also have an impact on coral color. Feeding corals can be done by target feeding or feeding the entire aquarium - however be careful not to overload the system's delicate nutrient balance by overfeeding. Most corals respond to feeding better after the lights are out. Turning off your protein skimmer and other filtration for 15-30 minutes during feeding will allow for better consumption for your corals.
