Good luck with your breeding efforts. Great looking fish by the way, both these and those in the other pictures.

Hi , today in the afternoon as I went to feed the fish I noticed that there were eggs layed on the piece of rock in the breeding tank and the Severum were taking good care of them.

So last week as I already said before ,my Golden Severum layed the eggs and the catfish ate everything , In just one week time the female severum layed eggs again.

From some research I found out that between spawns normally it takes 10 days. Also found out that hatched fish can live up to 7 days with the sack they are born with.

Some also said that Severum keep their young ones in their mouth till they are ready to swim well.

On the 2nd day they can still eat their eggs. The eggs will take 5 days to hatch so fingers crossed for the coming 5 days, Now I am just hoping that everything goes well .

Thanks everyone for the good comments.

Hello guys some bad news. On the third day after the laying of the eggs , in the evening ,as I was feeding my fish I noticed that the rock in the breeding tank was clean from eggs. Uffff. I think they ate every single one of them.

Now if they will spawn again after the1st or 2nd day I will remove the parents and will see if the eggs will hatch or not.

Hey some good news. yesterday as I went to feed my Severum I saw the female severum laying eggs again on the same stone.Right after it finished with the laying  , I saw the male fertilizing the eggs . I left the couple till the evening in the same Tank with the eggs and than put them  in the main tank and so the eggs are left in the breeding tank. I will try to hatch the eggs with out the parents.

Now will see what will happen , I founf out that the eggs will take 5 days to hatch.
