The create a new discusstion first click on the Discuss link found on the main page.


Then locate the section which fits most to your subject this is found in the main forums page.


Hit on New Topic located at the top right corner of the screen


Fill in the subject and the content,when done hit submit.

An excellent presentation by Ray Caruana on stress factors in the aquarium, presentation in the Maltese Language.  Apologies for the quality in the first 6 minutes of the movie we ran into some technical difficulties when converting the video.

Multi Lingual Threads - Thursday, May 26, 2011

Since the start we always encouraged members to write in any language they feel fluent with being Maltese or English , this was fine for many members since most of them are Maltese and can perfectly understand English and Maltese. The problem we were encountering is when foreign members start reading a post then get lost when someone replies in Maltese.

As we still do not want to restrict members to writing in English, we have devised a page translation system which allows members and visitors to change the language of the site according to their preference. Keep in mind that the technology used is not Artificial Intelligence and some grammatical mistakes may occur but that aside minor translation errors the system works very well.

 

Here is how to change language.

Consider the following thread the top part is in english while the second is in Maltese.

 

 

Go to the lower bar, select Language and then the desired language.

Using the spell check - Sunday, May 22, 2011

 To use the spell check when posting do the following steps.

 

1. Click on the spell check icon and select SCAYT

 

 

 

2. Right click on the red highlighted word and choose the correct spelling.

Uploading images to the Aquarium Malta posts. - Sunday, May 22, 2011

To upload picturesfollow these 3 easy steps.

1. click on pic link

2. Select upload tab, browse for file and send to server

3. Specify width, do not exceed 400px in width. Image automatically resizes itself.

for the more adventurous there are more settings to play around with but the above explains the basic functions.

Placement Background plant. An ideal plant that will contrast against other green plants due to its red colouration.

Propogation Methods The middle shoot should be removed and planted in the substrate. This will encourage the mother plant to grow new foliage and bush out. Side shoots are also good to take cuttings from.
